The Garrett County Medbank Program helps provide access to programs for low cost or free prescription medications to qualified residents of Garrett County. Individuals must reside within Garrett County, have no prescription coverage through private or public insurance, and meet financial guidelines. Medicare Part D enrollees who are in the coverage gap, also referred to as the “donut hole,” may qualify to apply.
Referrals to the Medbank Program can be made by anyone and are made by contacting the Garrett County Health Department Medbank Program. Referrals are usually made by individuals, healthcare providers, Department of Social Services, and various other community organizations.
Individuals must be willing to provide the following proofs:
Social Security Numbers
Income Proof (including current year income tax info) for all members of household)
Medication(s) and Dosage(s)
Denial Letters for Medicaid (if appropriate)
Insurance Information
A program Representative will complete an application for each referral to determine eligibility. This includes a financial questionnaire.
Completed forms will be mailed or faxed to your Healthcare Provider(s) for signature.
The application is then forwarded to the Pharmaceutical Company, along with a medication prescription.
Prescriptions are mailed to the Healthcare Providers office for dispensing and education.
Patient’s are responsible for contacting the Garrett County Medbank Program when medications are received by them. Neglecting to contact the Medbank Representative will result in a non-renewal/refill of medication(s).
Then, the Medbank Representative will be able to apply for refills.
The application process and medication delivery may take up to six weeks.
