WORKGROUP ON CHILD AND ADOLESCENT HEALTH March 2, 2022 MEETING MINUTES   THOSE PRESENT Fred Polce, GCHD Shelley Argabrite, GCHD Laura Robinson, MDH Amy Fike, Lighthouse Amber King, Wellspring Family Medicine Alicia Streets, GCDSS Kendra Thayer, GRMC Amy Ritchie, GCHD Dr. Jenny Corder, GCHD Maria Friend, GCHD Ula Slider, Maryland Coalition of Families Susan Mills, GCHD   Laura called the meeting to order at 8:31 a.m.  Dr. Schwalm was unable to attend.   GoHealth Crellin Update

• April 26 & 27 are the follow-up dates for the assessments and May 11 for any that were missed.
• Amber King and Dr. Schwalm recorded a Sunday morning radio show on WKHJ, speaking about healthy weight and obesity in children

  Diabetes/Obesity Efforts

• Thomas is the provider that we are working with to create the self-paced curriculum for providers.
• Shelley will be meeting with the State grant funder.

  Child Mental Health Campaign

• The group met to discuss the May campaign
• There is a letter to the faith-based community to get them involved and offer resources
• The letter could also be used for other groups, such as 4-H
• Need to get businesses involved too
• The library is interest in doing what they did last year
• Wednesday, May 4th is the day to wear green
• The schools will also run a campaign as the did last year
• There will be give-aways at the farmers market and schools.  LMB will reorder what they had last year
• Posters will be given to providers for their offices
• The group needs to have another meeting to consolidate the ideas

  Other Dr. Schwalm, Kelly Rock, and Amber attended ground rounds at the hospital.  They received a positive response from the providers.  Kelly Rock gave a rundown of what her practice offers and many were surprised to learn that there were services for children as young as five years old.   We have had several people join our group recently.  Please use this link that will explain more about the group and what we are currently doing and also the history.  https://gogarrettcounty.com/learn-more-about-how-our-community-is-working-together-to-help-youth/   With no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 8:54 a.m.  The next meeting is scheduled for April 6 at 8:30 a.m.   Respectfully Submitted,   Beth A.
