We have scheduled a Painting event Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 2pm. If you would know a Southern Garrett High School Student that would like to do this please have them email me [email protected].

I will have to arrange for pickup of the supplies needed for the event. Thank you! SGHS Youth in Action Advisor.

So my group was not able to do our event before the Oct 1st deadline (was last one I knew about). What are our options as of now. Thanks for any information u can give

Hi Shannon. As we continue to connect safely, many of the programs are simply on hold. Some have found ways to complete the projects, but most are waiting. Nothing new with SGHS Youth in Action Peaceful Painting. I am hoping we can do a social distancing paint night. If not maybe we can do a virtual paint night. That would mean that we would have to buy extra supplies that would have been shared together. Not sure how this will work with our budget. Update on the Meshach Browning plaque painting project from the Deep Creek Lake Lions Club.

All 80 of the plaques have been distributed to community members and we have gotten 23 back as of May 22. Using the mail with postage paid envelopes has worked fairly well so far. 20 of the panels have gone through the Partners After School program so…[Read more]

Way to go Deep Creek Lake Lions! We appreciate your updates and look forward to exploring the trails safely with a greater understanding of the history behind them. Welcome everyone. This is a different time in our lives. We have our supplies, instructor, location and is just waiting for the time when we can do the Peaceful Painting event. Cut out some decorations for on the tables and is on my mind that I wish we could continue. Just wanted to update everyone! This too shall pass…Then we will paint. Linda

Today opened the first day that SGHS students can sign up for the Peaceful Painting event. Sign up is in the main office. On the sign up sheet you check which photo you would like to paint. When full there is a page that you can put your information if have cancellations. Happy Painting. Also on morning announcements. Video attached.
