Deep Creek Lake Lions posted an update in the group
IMPACT 4 years, 6 months ago Update on the Meshach Browning plaque painting project from the Deep Creek Lake Lions Club.
All 80 of the plaques have been distributed to community members and we have gotten 23 back as of May 22. Using the mail with postage paid envelopes has worked fairly well so far. 20 of the panels have gone through the Partners After School program so that has been a great partnership!
We’ve already had a couple of the participants tell us that they read Browning’s book and hike the trails at the park because of the project, so this has been a great way to get people active and interested in local history!

Hope to have most of them back by the end of June and assembled/installed into the mosaic at the park.
Way to go Deep Creek Lake Lions! We appreciate your updates and look forward to exploring the trails safely with a greater understanding of the history behind them. You can always count on the Partners After School peeps to join in the fun and actively participate, I’m so happy the partnerships from the Impact grant keep expanding!
