One of the things we found out is that if 5 folks from an organization sign up for Wildwood Athletic Club here in Oakland, the initial registration fee is waived. Here at GC Community Action, those staff persons who join Wildwood can have their monthly membership fees deducted from their pay and sent directly to Wildwood. The membership covers…[Read more]

While vacationing recently in Canada, I saw a wonderful idea to encourage healthy eating habits. Our hotel had apples sitting on lit shelves in the hallways for hotel guests. It was a beautiful display–very eye catching and thought provoking. I think this would be a great idea to encourage our staff and clients to make positive food choices.
