Goal:

Through the provision of services by the WIC Program, families at risk of food insecurity will have access to nutritious foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referral sources to reduce the this insecurity.

Strategy Description:

WIC will provide clinical services to all eligible participants in Garrett County. WIC will monitor participation compared to enrollment to monitor families’ access to benefits. WIC will monitor clinic no show rates for trends in participation. To minimize barriers to access, WIC will utilize alternate clinic participation modalities to permit participants to receive their benefits. Starting in 2024 we will also track the number of referals we receive from providers and or community partners to see if there is any corrolation between referals and participation.
