As a kick-off to National Recovery Month in September, the Healing Allegany Consortium is hosting our second PurpleFest!
“Allegany Goes Purple” aims to help prevent the misuse of opioids and other substances through awareness, education, community support, and advocacy. The campaign also seeks to celebrate those in recovery and demonstrate support for those who are working to overcome addiction. As well as family members and friends caught in the devastation of the opioid epidemic.
The Healing Allegany Consortium will kick off a countywide celebration of National Recovery Month with PurpleFest, a free festival to be held Saturday, Aug. 26 featuring live music, numerous vendors and two time Emmy award winning sports broadcaster from ESPN and SEC Network, Lauren Sisler.
The day-long festival, set for 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., will be held at Constitution Park in Cumberland and will serve as the kick-off event of the month-long “Allegany Goes Purple” campaign in September. Vendors are signing up with slots available for food, craft and other vendors, including promotional tables for area groups and organizations. Pool vouchers will be available for families attending the event, sponsored by MD Coalition of Families.
If you would like to be a vendor at PurpleFest, here is the registration form: https://form.123formbuilder.com/form-6450121/purplefest-vendor-form-2023
