GCHD Lead case management program provides information to the community and families to reduce child lead exposures. Relationships are created with families to ensure child lead testing is completed at accurate times and to educate on and advocate for measures to be taken to reduce elevated blood lead levels in children.
Oct 24-30th is National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. Here at GCHD we want to get awareness out about lead poisoning and how we as a community can protect our children. We will be sharing messages with you throughout the week on lead poisoning and prevention. Did you know, there is no safe blood lead level in children- but lead poisoning in children is preventable! Preventing lead exposure in young children is important because as their bodies grow and develop, they are more vulnerable to the impacts of lead.
