OLD BUSINESS
Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes – The minutes from the November 21, 2019 meeting were approved as submitted.
NEW BUSINESS
Garrett County Community Health Assessment – The Health Department worked with MLMC, GRMC, and Behavioral Health Administration/Local Management Board to design the initial survey. All the partners sent surveys out to make a large assessment size.
There are two Prioritization Survey Results, Regional and (Garrett) County and they show the same list of lead concerns, jobs, wages, and economic development. If you go to mygarrettcounty.com, you are able to click on every response and it expands to show additional information.

You can utilize the data as you write your grants and work together on the problems identified in the report.
AGENCY UPDATES
The State has created a Diabetes Action Plan. MDH says communities need to do assessments, but no money follows.
The State is trying to strengthen Local Health Improvement Coalition (LHIC) groups like HPC. Bob received a draft plan that will give money to complete community surveys. We will delve further into this in the January meeting. There is an HPC Ad Hoc Committee that will be meeting January 15 to come up with a plan.
There will be a Steps to Better Health Committee meeting in January to work on the health fair scheduled for April 4.
This week’s Commissioners meeting was rescheduled for January. There will be a community update about the $15 minimum wage and the Kerwin Commission. The commissioners intend to set up area meetings and bring the information on the Kerwin Commission to the people.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 9:21 a.m. The next HPC meeting is scheduled for January 23, 2019.
Respectfully Submitted,
Beth A. Brenneman
