  • Oct 24-30th is National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. Here at GCHD we want to get awareness out about lead poisoning and how we as a community can protect our children. We will be sharing messages with you throughout the week on lead poisoning and prevention. Did you know, there is no safe blood lead level in children- but lead poisoning in children is preventable! Preventing lead exposure in young children is important because as their bodies grow and develop, they are more vulnerable to the impacts of lead. For questions about lead poisoning and prevention please visit https://health.maryland.gov/phpa/OEHFP/EH/Pages/Lead.aspx or reach out to us in the Personal Health Department at Garrett County Health Department. #NLPPW2021 #LeadFreeKids
