On March 3, 2021, Mary Van Sickle (schools), Amy Fike (Lighthouse) and I met with Mark Boucot CEO or GRMC, Kendra Thayer (CCO GRMC) and Kimi Scott-McGreevy to discuss child mental health. I presented a brief history of the Child and Adolescent Health Work Group, initiatives we’ve pursued and then some statistics for Garrett County on Mental Health. Amy presented what they are trying to do at Lighthouse and their inability to attract a qualified person for their adolescent mental health grant and Mary presented the situation in the schools and what kids are going through. Mark suggested that the first step towards addressing these needs would be a meeting on critical stakeholders, which we agreed with. He asked for our input as to who the stakeholders are, and then he proposed that his office assistant set up such a meeting.
