Join me in congratulating Phi Theta Kappa for completing their project on-time despite the closure of the college and many other hurdles due to COVID-19! This group of young students persevered and the Brightening lives through Brighter Smiles project brings hope and much-needed supplies to people who are in desperate need of help. Zachary Friend will be putting all the information in the Doc’s section and I encourage all to celebrate with him and the rest of the students. We realize most of the projects had in-person events planned and those have been postponed until it’s safer for us to gather as a community. We have requested an extension from RWJF until October. We will continue to stay safe and take things one day at a time. We deeply appreciate your commitment to our community and look forward to sharing encouraging news.
Thank you, Shelley and the RWJF, for making this project possible! Although COVID-19 made this project very challenging for Phi Theta Kappa to complete, we were determined to provide these dental supplies to our community. Our determination and strong desire to give back to our community is what pushed us to overcome the obstacles of COVID-19. We hope that these dental kits will brighten the lives of those they reach!
