That’s great news, thanks so much for taking an interest in helping to increase these rates in our county! Right now, the physical gathering of people that are talking about this issue is the Health Planning Council. Dr. Jenny Corder and Karl Schwam have taken an interest and our leading efforts to address providers in the county. The HPC meets at the Garrett County Health Department at 8:00 a.m. on the fourth Thursday of every month in the main conference room on the first floor. The address is 1025 Memorial Drive, Oakland MD 21550. The next meeting is September 27th. Contact @beth , or call 301-334-7715 to be added to the agenda or you are welcome to simply attend and have an open discussion with the group. In addition, you can see in the Raw Data of this group that Mountain Laurel is having great success. @charleswilt or @lauras can tell you more about the strategy the use, or they may want to join forces… 🙂

Thanks for your interest, Venessa! Yes, we are trying to fashion a community wide messaging initiative, so your group spreading the word is very timely. We also have recently reached out to the primary providers of the county to raise awareness of issue, and the initiative. Looking forward to adding your energy to this big project!
