Community News: Marylanders Online – Bridging the Digital Divide in Rural Communities Webinar

NERCRD is please to kick off its 2025 webinar series with this exploration of innovative strategies and initiatives aimed at increasing internet access and digital literacy in Maryland’s rural areas. We’ll be joined by University of Maryland Extension’s Teri Mumm and Julie Slivka (see below), who will share their experiences and insights on: – Current challenges facing rural Maryland in terms of internet connectivity and digital literacy. – Successful programs and partnerships that have improved digital access. – Strategies for enhancing digital skills and adoption in rural communities. – The impact of increased connectivity on rural economic development, quality of life, and social determinants of health. This webinar is intended for policymakers, community leaders, educators, and anyone interested in rural development and digital inclusion.
