You are heading out with a large group of your friends to celebrate the end of the school year. A couple of your friends are under-age, but they manage to get into the pub undetected. Some of the people in the group decide that everyone will take turns buying drinks for your underage friends. As the night progresses, the group is enjoying the buzz from the alcohol, but one of your under-age friends has been particularly affected and is starting to slur and occasionally put their head down on the table. What action do you take at this point?
- Get some water for your underage friend, take them outside for some air and try to convince your friends not to buy him/her any more alcohol.
- Notify the security and bartender that your friend is underage and that all your friends have been purchasing alcohol illegally. Ring his/her parents to come and pick him/her up.
- Make a few jokes about how drunk your friend is and hope your friends will stop buying him/her drinks.
- Explain your own answer

These answers will vary greatly depending on age and moral values. Not sure how many people would turn themselves in; however, maybe they would leave and take the individual home and talk to his/her parents. Let’s try to continue to educate and hope that the third option does not happen and we end up with more situations like what happened at Penn State.
