Data Narrative

Tobacco compliance checks - Garrett County Sheriff's Office conducts visits of Garrett County tobacco licensees. A visit is defined as an underage buyer attempting to purchase tobacco at a retail establishment. Non-compliant tobacco vendors - Any retail establishment that completes a sale of tobacco to an underage buyer that is under the supervision of the Garrett County Sheriff's Office is considered non-compliant. Alcohol compliance checks -Maryland State Police  conduct visits of Garrett County alcohol licensees. A visit is defined as an underage buyer attempting to purchase alcohol at a retail establishment. There were no funds to do alcohol compliance checks in FY19. Non-compliant tobacco vendors - Any retail establishment that completes a sale of alcohol to an underage buyer that is under the supervision of the Maryland State Police is considered non-compliant. No alcohol compliance checks were conducted in FY19 because there were no funds to do so.
