Meshach Browning Painted Panel Mosaic

IMPACT’s Docs Meshach Browning Painted Panel Mosaic

Project Name: Meshach Browning Painted Panel Mosaic

Description: The Deep Creek Lake Lions Club will have community members paint 3D-printed 3×6 inch panels with a relief image of Meshach Browning and his dogs. These panels will then be mounted onto an outdoor art piece as part of our Meshach Browning-themed art installation at our public park on Bumble Bee Road. Participants will receive a 3D printed mini-sculpture of Browning and his dogs to take home with them as well as a brochure on pioneer history in Garrett County.

We propose to have community members do the painting at our “Roar Like a Lion” event  scheduled for April 18th at the Oakland and Grantsville libraries from noon – 4pm. At this event, Lions Clubs will set up at these libraries and provide the public to engage in their choice from a selection of mini-service projects such as writing cards to troops overseas, braiding scrap fabric into dog toys or this project, painting panels for inclusion in a public art piece.

The panels will then be assembled into a approximately 6×3 foot outdoor mosaic which will be permanently installed at the Club’s park.  The mosaic and the rest of the art installation are open for public appreciation anytime the park is open (daylight hours).
