DIABETES/OBESITY UPDATE

Work is being done on agrant through Blue Cross to promote physical activity.

Providers that have taken part of the CME program will be given packets to offer to their patients.

 

GO CRELLIN UPDATE

Health Assessments are scheduled for the end of the month

 

CHILD MENTAL HEALTH CAMPAIGN

• Laura sent out approximately 25 letters to churches and was contacted by 3 of them.
  • A kit is being put together for them.  A flier is needed that lists the services available in Garrett County.  
  • Bulk give-aways are also needed
• Amy Fike is waiting for more information and instructions for the 4-H and Girl Scouts.  Laura will email information to Amy
• Ula met with community providers and informed them on how to sign up and what their business can do for the campaign.
• State Park entrances would be a good place for posters and provide stickers
• The schools are compiling a tool kit
  • Each school is to come up with their own activities
  • May 4 is wear green day
  • School resource officers need to be involved
• Dr. Schwalm will do an article for the newspaper
• If Social Services, Hospice, etc. have not been contacted, Dr. Schwalm will do that
• A proclamation will be set up with the commissioners
• GRMC has provided information to providers for their offices
• Kelly Rock will be meeting with nurse practitioners in the county.  Dr. Schwalm will attend and fill them in on what this group is doing
• Please contact Dr. Schwalm in a week to update him on what is going on and what is planned.  Also, let him know if materials are needed.
