We were organized in 1999 as a Garrett County Board of Commissioners’ task force. In 2008, Garrett Trails was founded as a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization. In 2011, Garrett Trails finalized a study for the Eastern Continental Divide Loop, a 150-mile comprehensive trail within Garrett County that connects to the Greater Allegany Passage (GAP) from Pittsburgh, PA to D.C.
