    • With the goal being to increase the number of individuals vaccinated against HPV between the ages of 9-26 years of age seems to be a large target population. Would it be possible to focus upon those of middle school age which is typically 11-13 years old as an initial target population. My thoughts are when the youth participate in the health portion of the curriculum, would it be possible to obtain parental/guardian permission and vaccinate the youth at that time? I am uncertain if this would be possible but would appear that the youth may be able to receive dose 1 during that period when taking the health course. Then dose 2 could be administered when due and would appear that this may be easy to track. Another thought for those that did not have the opportunity would be to focus upon those in high school, obtain consent from parent/guardian and begin vaccinating the first dose the first month upon entry to high school and continue with the administration until complete…..Although this would change the target population to adolescence, the initial goal of increasing the number of those vaccinated may be achieved as the goal for the increase is by 25.3 may be met with all three doses being administered during adolescence and potentially being more easily tracked. Perhaps creating a separate goal for the target population of young adulthood with focusing upon those receiving family services through the health department or the primary care provider of the individual’s choosing then begin tracking the obtained data for that specific population.
